As conveyed before, deciding and committing to lose weight is the first of a series of steps we must follow in order to minimizing your mid waist, coincidentally, this is one of the most important aspects if not the most important aspect of losing weight by doing stomach exercises at home and basically accomplishing any goal.
You know, here we will tap into our beliefs; human beings have unlimited potential to do things and I don’t think anyone will disagree with that, what’s notable, is that the potential that you will put into action depends upon the belief you have that something it’s going to work or not. If you don’t think what you are trying is going to work, you will tap into little potential thus, tacking little action and as a result, achieving little results that amazingly will reinforce those beliefs that this new thing you are trying doesn’t really work, this is where the voice inside your heads goes: “I told you it was not going to work” and then, your beliefs are even less, well, you can already see how that leads to poorer and poorer results already.
The great thing is, if we can convince ourselves from any outer experience that this really works, then, as our beliefs will be empowered by that which we saw or read, we will tap into a lot of our unlimited potential, taking massive action, and achieving massive results that will feed our beliefs that this truly works, thus, tapping into more of our potential etc.
You can see how this can work both ways, positively and negatively and how this process starts with our beliefs. So, the first step we must take in order to get a flatter stomach, is to truly believe this we are attempting works, but how do we do this? You say; stick with me and we’ll delve into more detail on how you can shift any beliefs that don’t empower you to achieve your goal.
Changing Your Beliefs
Basically there are two ways to change what we believe about something, the first one is our own experience, things that happen to you in your daily life will determine or shape some of the beliefs you have; perhaps you don’t believe that anyone can live traveling the world until you met this crazy Australian that’s been traveling for 15 years non stop spending less than 10 grand a year, then, that belief must change in order to stay coherent with your real experience. The other option we have to change any belief we find is negative or non-empowering for achieving any goal is autosuggestion, you see, our minds are truly amazing machines, we can program them to make them think and believe in anything we want consciously, perhaps you have a belief in your head that smoking cigarettes let you stay sharp and focused, and, as a result of this belief you smoke a ton everyday. If you where going to decide to stop smoking, you’d had to shape that belief and associate smoking a cigarette to something that you consider painful in your own mind map, you can auto-suggest yourself about how bad a cigarette is, you can go to hospitals and visit patients with emphysema and see what the cigarette did to them, associating a painful status to an action will automatically make you stop doing it, if you believe it enough. To auto-suggest yourself about something you only have to repeat it to yourself, but be careful, because this can be also misleading and you can also convince your mind about things such as that you are not good enough, or you can’t do it, or you don’t have the potential, etc.
What’s truly amazing about this is that reality is like the territory, and each and every one of us has his or her own map of this territory in his head (values and beliefs). The configuration of this map will determine the actions we make every day! This is why it’s so important to make sure you identify any part of your map that doesn’t empower you to achieve your goals.
You’ll see, there’s actually not right or wrong about configuring your map, as long as whatever you put into it let’s you achieve the goals you are pursuing.
